First Aid Level 3 – First Aid At Work

3 Day Course

Our First Aid at Work Course delivers a minimum of 18 hours of instruction and is conducted over 3 days. This course provides the comprehensive set of practical skills needed to become a confident first aider at work, giving you both the ability and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies in the work place.

The course covers primary and secondary care including a mix of theory and practical tasks. The certificate is valid for 3 years and then you can attend a 2 day re-qualification as long as your certificate is still in date. The HSE recommend that all first aiders complete an annual first aid refresher course. All course information and material has been evaluated and assured to meet the new requirements set out by the HSE in October 2013 and meet the requirements of the First Aid at Work (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

ASSESSMENTS

Successful delegates will gain an understanding of current, relevant legislation, best practice and be able to facilitate first aid at work, in line with current approved methods. Following changes affecting all first aid training providers, people attending our workplace First Aid courses (the 3-day First Aid at Work, 2-day Requalification and the 1-day Emergency First Aid) are now both trained and assessed by a single instructor whilst the course is progressing and not by using a separate examination at the end. This assessment will be through observation along with some written exercises. Whilst these written elements are straightforward, delegates need a basic command of English. So whilst we are often able to provide support to people who for example do not have English as a first language, our ability to do so is limited by the time available and the number of people who require assistance, although we may be able to make special arrangements if requested in advance. Please contact us if you need any guidance.
