First Aid Level 2 – Emergency First Aid

1 Day Course

Our Emergency First Aid Course delivers a minimum of 6 hours of classroom based theory and practical instruction for all. This is a one day training course, which, prior to 2009, was the qualification taken by thoe designated as an ‘Appointed Person for First Aid’ in an organisation.

It is suitable for all who wish to learn Basic First Aid and those who need a formal qualification, but the risk assessment shows that the full First Aid at Work certificate is not necessary. The course meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations. This course is designed for people who want to receive training in emergency first aid and is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller, low risk working environments.

Successful delegates will gain an understanding of current, relevant legislation, best practice and be able to facilitate first aid at work, in line with current approved methods. Following changes affecting all first aid training providers, people attending our workplace First Aid courses (the 3-day First Aid at Work, 2-day Requalification and the 1-day Emergency First Aid) are now both trained and assessed by a single instructor whilst the course is progressing and not by using a separate examination at the end.

This assessment will be through observation along with some written exercises. Whilst these written elements are straightforward, delegates need a basic command of English. So whilst we are often able to provide support to people who for example do not have English as a first language, our ability to do so is limited by the time available and the number of people who require assistance, although we may be able to make special arrangements if requested in advance. Please contact us if you need any guidance.
